Marwa Khaksar is an undergraduate student at York University with academic interests centered on race, power, governance, and social justice within global and Asian contexts. Her work explores themes such as racial formation, state authority, colonial legacies, migration and the intersections of law, culture and identity.

Through coursework in political science, Indigenous studies, and critical race theory, Marwa has examined how knowledge systems, institutions and policies shape lived experiences and reinforce or challenge inequality. She is particularly interested in comparative perspectives that highlight how historical and contemporary forms of power operate across societies, with a focus on diasporic and marginalized communities.

Marwa’s research approach emphasizes critical analysis, ethical responsibility, and community-centered perspectives. She aims to contribute to conversations that bridge academic research with real-world social issues, particularly those affecting immigrant and racialized populations. Her long-term interests include policy analysis, advocacy and research that supports more inclusive and equitable social structures.
