Tvishaa is currently a doctoral student at the department of Politics. They are interested in migration politics in the context of Canada and India. For their master’s degree at York University, they completed a Major Research Paper, entitled “Unveiling the Logics of Educational Migration to Canada.” Their doctoral dissertation seeks to build on this research by looking at the costs of migrating to Canada for education from Punjab, such as loans and/or the sale of land and assets, and how policies within India and Canada can push and/or pull Punjabi students to emigrate. They are a past recipient of York University’s Graduate Fellowship for Academic Distinction.
