Yao Cui received her PhD in ethnomusicology from York University in Canada. Currently, she is a lecturer in the School of Music at the Sichuan University of Science and Engineering. Her research focuses on the history, repertoire, transnationalism and globalization of Chinese music in the context of the Chinese diaspora, with particular interests in Chinese instrumental orchestras in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada.
