Yazan Al Horoub is a PhD student in the Department of Politics at York University. He specializes in International Relations and Comparative Politics. His current research examines the political economy of underdevelopment and development in West Asia, with a particular focus on the context of intensifying great power rivalry. He is currently a Graduate Associate Representative on the York Centre for Asian Research's (YCAR) Executive Committee. Previously, he was trained in Kinseiology (BSc, MSc) at York University. His research examined Toronto's development and procurement policies in hosting the 2026 FIFA men’s World Cup, and their relation to the global anti-sweatshop movement.
