WELCOME TO YUCDC!

Beginning of Your Journey

Your childcare journey with us at the York University Co-operative Daycare Centre will begin following your completion of the Waitlist Application Form.  As soon as this form is received, your child will be placed on our waitlist.  When a space for your child becomes available, you will receive an email from us to arrange for a tour of our programs.  To prepare for this tour, you will be sent a parent package which would include a copy of our Family Handbook and Registration Forms.

After the Tour:

Following your tour, you will have ten business days to confirm the space for your child by sending in the registration forms along with a non-refundable deposit.  Once a space has been confirmed, you and your child will become a member of the YUCDC Family!

Your community partner in high quality child care since 1969,

  3. Faculty/staff of York University
  4. Students pursuing an education at York University
  5. Families with children who have previously attended YUCDC
  6. Alumni of York University
  7. Community Members

If you are interested in applying to the YUCDC, please fill out the Wait List Application Form here and send it to daycare@yorku.ca : Wait list form

Child Care Fee Subsidy

A Child Care Fee Subsidy through the City of Toronto helps a family with the cost of licensed child care. Plan to apply for subsidy well in advance of when you will require assistance, as there is a wait list for this funding.  A family who needs help with the cost of licensed child care for their children (up to 12 years old) must meet the following criteria:

  • Your family must live in Toronto or is moving to Toronto.
  • Each parent/guardian is either:  employed; in school or planning to go to school.
  • Each parent/guardian has submitted their most recent Income Tax Return.  If you are a new immigrant to Canada this year or if you are under 18 years of age, you may apply without your most recent Tax Return.

CUPE Local 3903 Subsidy

CUPE 3903 and YUCDC have an agreement that provides our members a childcare fee subsidy. Members must meet the CUPE 3903 eligibility criteria for current or political membership, as outlined in Article 6.f, of the CUPE 3903 bylaws. Members must provide one of the following documents for eligibility: a photocopy of their current, most recent teaching contract, or current CUPE membership. One of these three documents can either be dropped off at the YUCDC Office or sent via email to daycare@yorku.ca.

The amount of subsidy available for each family is determined by the number of CUPE members registered with YUCDC. CUPE subsidy amounts are subject to fluctuation, but typically range from 20% to 50% of monthly childcare costs. The CUPE subsidy will remain in effect as long as the CUPE subsidy funds are available.
