Microsoft has announced Windows 11 will be available as a free upgrade for eligible Windows 10 PCs, on October 5, 2021.
York University owned PCs are typically managed by an IT support team and have the automatic OS upgrade disabled.
We strongly advise the community not to upgrade and/or purchase PCs pre-loaded with Windows 11 until UIT teams have an opportunity to verify critical central services are compatible.
UIT will continue to support Windows 10 until further notice. We thank you for your patience and continued understanding.
