Service Advisory 

Please share the following with your teams.

Incident Summary:
UIT received reports affecting Mac users unable to connect to File Access service.

System affected: 
File Access Service (FAS)

Date of occurrence: 
The date is dependent on when macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 was installed on the computer.

Impact: 
User cannot access file share(s) hosted on VFACAD and VFADMIN.

Root cause: 
The issue was caused by a security update released by Apple in macOS Sequoia 15.7.1.

Resolution: 
Users are now required to authenticate with pyusername@yorku.ca

Additional note:
Apple released macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 on September 29, 2025 with no information that would allow IT teams to prepare and plan.
