Anti-Asian threats have increased dramatically during the pandemic but are also part of Canadian history, says Sociology Professor Cary Wu

Six Asian-American women were killed on March 16, 2021, during a series of mass shootings at three spas in Atlanta. This kind of targeting based on race and gender took place in an atmosphere of greatly increased threats to Asian Americans and Canadians, says Professor Cary Wu, of York’s Department of Sociology.
