EWIH: Funding Futures for Women

EWIH presents our next event: Funding Futures for Women!

Financial literacy is the acquisition and application of financial skills. This includes learning how to budget, understanding the mechanisms of credit, investing disposable income, and saving for retirement. These skills are critical to the quality of life as positive financial outcomes are associated with higher total household wealth, lower financial stress, and higher expected retirement income. Research has found that women, throughout their entire lives, and across many countries, have lower levels of financial knowledge than men. This leaves them with much poorer long-term health outcomes and significantly lower quality of life than men.

To bridge this gap, EWIH introduces Funding Futures for Women, a case competition to generate solutions for current financial issues which affect women across Canada. This single day event will gather participants in a brief competition to produce the efficient and well-rounded solutions of social issues to build financial literacy skills. Judged by a panel of female professionals, this competition gives participants the opportunity to network with leaders in the healthcare and financial fields as well as build their social network with future women in health. After gaining critical evaluation by the panelists and partaking in significant discussion, participants will receive a certificate to recognize their financial literacy skills!

This event will take place virtually on June 1st from 6 – 8 pm! Registration remains open till June 1st @ 10:00 am.

All registered participants are entered for the chance to win one of many gift card prizes in our registration raffle!
