BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
Take advantage of the most diverse undergraduate education curriculum in Ontario, with our Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program. We offer two teacher education program delivery models – Concurrent and Consecutive – leading to the Bachelor of Education degree and a recommendation for certification with the Ontario College of Teachers. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the teaching profession as confident and effective teachers.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION WAABAN INDIGENOUS TEACHER EDUCATION
Taking its name from an Anishinabe (Ojibwa) word meaning it is tomorrow, Waaban Indigenous Teacher Education is committed to a holistic program of teaching and learning that acknowledges the impacts of colonialism and draws on the wisdom of ancestral teachings and contemporary leaders to put Indigenous futures into Indigenous hands. Waaban aims to educate a new generation of teachers prepared to address the needs of First Nation, Métis and Inuit students, families and communities.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION
There is a current shortage of qualified technological education teachers in Ontario and it is expected to become critical in the next few years. Our Bachelor of Education (BEd) Technological Education program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to earn a degree to teach one of ten broad-based technologies.

BACHELOR OF ARTS EDUCATIONAL STUDIES
Our Bachelor of Arts (BA) Educational Studies program provides students with the depth of knowledge needed to understand education and its role in society today. Through learning placements and other experiential opportunities, you will gain the skills needed to educate outside the traditional classroom in roles that bridge sectors.

Admission Requirements

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree qualifies successful graduates to teach in K-12 schools and to be recommended for certification with the Ontario College of Teachers. Hands on learning opportunities
“Experiential Education” is a big part of your learning experience at York. Students in our Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts Educational Studies Program have opportunities to learn experientially through placement experiences. Placements may include various types of work-focused experiential education.

Resources and materials for students: Education Resource Centre (ERC)
The ERC is a library of materials to support you during your practice teaching by providing access to a number of resources and materials exclusively to Faculty of Education students. Resources include: manipulatives,Teacher’s guides, solution manuals and classroom technology, all of which can be accessed online.
