Community Update #3 (Feb. 27)

Community Update #3 (Feb. 27)

On the second day of the labour disruption, picket lines are now up at Glendon Campus’ entrance and all Keele Campus road entrances. As a result, community members may experience delays.

When approaching a picket line, all community members are urged to display patience, be respectful, and remain calm. Avoid engaging in arguments or escalating tensions.

The Community Safety team is actively engaged with CUPE 3903 picket captains to encourage clear guidelines and to help coordinate timed delays.

When coming to campus, please allow extra time. Approach the picket line slowly and be prepared to be stopped.

To access campus, respectfully inform the picketer that you are exercising your legal right to attend classes, report to work, or to conduct other business or appointments. Proceed through the picket line when you are waved through by those in charge of the picket line.

For the duration of labour disruption, consider alternative modes of transportation into York Campuses, including public transit.

  • The York University and Pioneer Village subway stops can bring you directly onto the Keele Campus.
  • TTC buses will be diverted outside of the Keele Campus, including avoiding the blockages at NW Gate and Howard Moscoe at our Pioneer Village subway station.
  • ZUM buses will be dropping passengers off at Steeles Ave. opposite Founders Rd. and Steeles at the Northwest Gate near Pioneer Village Station.
