Take the pledge

Small actions, actually kept

The pledge is a 30-day commitment to specific, trackable actions across seven areas of campus life. Students, faculty, staff, and community members choose what they will do, set a check-in date, and log their progress along the way. A pledge you can measure is a pledge you can keep.

How it works

Build a pledge you can actually keep

Pick the specific actions you will take over the next 30 days. Start with one or two; a small pledge you keep is worth more than a long one you forget. Your pledge and progress are saved in this browser, so you can come back and log what you have done.

1ChooseSelect actions across seven areas. Each is labelled Starter, Step up, or Stretch.
2CommitAdd your name, then download your pledge card and add a 30-day check-in to your calendar.
3TrackLog each time you follow through. At 30 days, look back at what changed.

Day 1 of 30

Why specific, time-bound actions?

General intentions rarely change behaviour on their own. Commitments work best when they are concrete, made in advance, and followed up: that is why each action here names exactly what to do, how to log it, and when to look back. Want to go further? Our free resources include a full waste audit guide for measuring what your building throws away.
