In March 2019, Zeidler Architecture Inc. was hired to develop the Design Standards for public use washrooms at Keele and Glendon. Through consultation with maintenance, custodial, other facilities staff as well as a RFI through Procurement Services, product recommendation including floor and wall, tile, toilet partitions, sinks and counters, toilets, urinals, flush valves, faucets, hand dryers, lighting, HVAC, etc. were discussed and agreed upon. These Design Standards were then applied to the list of 33 year-one washrooms spread across multiple buildings at both Keele and Glendon.

In February 2020, CGI Constructors was awarded as General Contractor for the renovations of Year 1 Washrooms. This list included 34 washrooms in total (6 of which were at Glendon). These washrooms were all completed by April 2021. BDA Inc. was awarded the contract for Year 2 Washrooms in January 2021. The list includes 21 washrooms in total (3 of which are at Glendon) and completion was January 2022.

A new phase has begun which will incorporate the renovations of approximately 23 washrooms. The design and construction will take place in 2022 with expected completion Spring 2023.
