In order to gain access to online course materials auditing students must ask for their course directors to enrol them manually in their online courses.
The process is as follows:
If/When the auditing student has an active Passport York account:
The professor can automatically enrol the user in the course following the instructions here: I would like to manually enroll a user to my eClass. How is this done?
If/When the auditing student DOES NOT have an active Passport York account:
The professor must first sponsor a Passport York account for the user using UIT's Sponsored Account form found at https://staff.computing.yorku.ca/passwords-passport-york-access/obtaining-guest-and-special-event-accounts/
Be sure to include the following in your Sponsored Account request for the auditing student:
- FAS Access: This will allow the user to be able to log into Wi-Fi and on-campus computers
- Passport York and LDAP: Access to Moodle/Eclass and most of York’s systems
- @yorku.ca email address for Zoom: accounts require an active @yorku.ca email address to participate in internal Zoom meetings.
For detailed instructions on accessing and completing UIT's sponsored account form please see the help article at the following link:
https://www.yorku.ca/glendon/itssti/faq/faq/how-to-fill-out-uits-sponsored-account-form/.
Once the user's account is created, they can then be manually enrolled in the course by the professor following these instructions: I would like to manually enroll a user to my eClass. How is this done?
