Social & Political Thought is About to Turn 50 Years Old

2023 marks the fiftieth year of Social and Political Thought at York!

These interdisciplinary MA and PHD programs broke new group in their inception, and have continued to change and grow with the times.

Our alumni have gone on to start up other new graduate programs in other interdisciplinary areas including Film, Women’s studies, Gender studies, and others, as well as to position themselves in many different academic non-academic settings.

We look forward to celebrating this landmark event in Spring 2023, and hope that YOU will join us at our commemorative event (more info soon). Please click here for the latest updates.

In the meantime, if you have past affiliations with SPTH—as a student, alumni or faculty member—and have any photos of SPTH events, or pictures of book covers of books you have written, please forward the pictures to us, as we would like to find a creative way to travel down memory lane and to highlight the interests and accomplishments of SPTH-ers.
