Sociology, Bachelor of Arts (BA) 2015
Disaster & Emergency Management 2015
My field is incredibly interdisciplinary with people from all backgrounds (first responders, military, post secondary education, etc.). Each of these backgrounds provides an important perspective when dealing with emergency situations. Through my studies in sociology, I gained knowledge in many areas that I didn't even realize would inform my work including social vulnerability, intersectionality, and various ideas/theories such as postmodernism, critical theory, and symbolic interactionism.
