Leah Ciani is a Toronto-based editor and publishing professional. She holds a degree in Professional Writing from York University and currently works as an editor at Sutherland House Books, an independent Canadian publisher specializing in timely nonfiction.

York gave me the opportunity to take my interest in books seriously and turn it into a career. I was fortunate to have professors who took the time to know me and encouraged me to think beyond the classroom. In particular, Prof. Bucemi introduced me to the world of publishing, ultimately leading to my position as an editor at Sutherland House Books. My time at York was meaningful not only for what I learned, but for the people who helped me find my way.
