Since graduating from York in 2007 with a major in Economics and Political Science, Van has enjoyed a diverse career, starting with management consulting at a boutique consulting firm focusing on energy and infrastructure and then moving to risk management and compliance on the trading floor of an independent investment management company. From then, Van shifted focus to institutional investment management, particularly in designing asset mixes and constructing portfolios for global institutional clients and helping to manage multi-asset strategies at a major pension plan in Ontario. Van is currently an Executive Director, Investment Strategist at Morgan Stanley where he leads and advises on portfolio construction and cross-asset strategy and is also part of Global Investment Office (GIO).
