Entity (Advancement)

An entity is a person or organization with a unique identification number assigned by the Division of Advancement.

An entity is created when a person or organization merits engagement from York University. Information on the entity is assigned a record type and recorded by Advancement.

Each unique entity identification refers to only one person or organization. The record cannot have multiple members (e.g. spouses or an organization and a subsidiary) on the same entity record.

Alumni
Faculty
Donor

Examples of an organization entity:

Corporation
Fundraising foundation
Non-profit organization
