A visa status is an indicator of whether or not a student is studying in Canada on a student visa. Visa students hold a visa and study permit allowing them to study in Canada.

Most visa students pay international tuition fees, which is indicated by their academic tuition fee category. Not all visa students pay the international fees. For example, a dependant of a Canadian citizen would pay domestic tuition fees.
