A letter of permission is approval issued to a student to take courses at another accredited university towards their York University degree. A visiting student may also enrol in York courses with a letter of permission.

For York students, the Faculty (academic unit) or department in which they are currently registered must approve these courses in advance in the form of a letter of permission. (See transfer credit: letter of permission.)
