Black Creek is a neighbourhood located in the northwest end of Toronto, in the district of North York. As part of York University's commitment though the University Academic Plan to engaging with the communities in which it is situated, the York University-TD Community Engagement Centre (CEC) facilitates mutually-beneficial collaborations between York University and the Jane Finch/Black Creek community.
The Jane Finch/Black Creek neighbourhood is centred at the intersection of Jane Street and Finch Avenue West, the area is roughly bounded by Weston Road to the west, Keele Street to the east, 401 to the south, and Steeles Avenue to the north. The neighbourhood includes postal codes beginning with M3N, M3M, M3L and M3J.
The Black Creek neighbourhood is on traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, Métis, Mississaugas of the Scugog, Mississaugas of the Credit River, Alderville First Nation, Hiawatga, Haudenosaunee, Huron and the Wendat Indigenous people.
