A transcript is an official record of a student's academic history at York University or other institution. The University both issues transcripts for students and receives transcripts for applicants.

The transcript is a comprehensive summary of a student's course enrolment, grades, and sessional academic decisions. Transcripts are typically required when a student is applying to another post-secondary program such as graduate school, for a potential employer, a government agency or an insurance company to authenticate a student’s complete record at York University.
