A staff member is an employee who works full-time, part-time or in a casual status at York University.
Staff may work in administrative and support roles, in a Faculty (academic unit) or a central administrative department. A staff member in an administrative role within a Faculty is not considered faculty. An example is a Financial Officer.
Examples of central administrative roles can be Payroll Clerks or Business Analysts not located in a Faculty. Other staff work in custodial services, security, parking services, and other divisions.
Note that faculty members and research casual employees who work for a Principal Investigator are not considered staff.
