A joint degree program is a program (academic) of study offered by two or more universities or by a university and a college (community partner) or institute in which successful completion of the requirements is confirmed by a single degree document. This is an inter-institutional type of degree program.

Examples of joint degree programs are the joint York University & Toronto Metropolitan University Communication and Culture MA and PhD programs.
