A course offering is a specific instance of a course in a specific session and period of an academic year. A course can have multiple offerings per session within an academic year, but a course can only be offered once per session and period.

Within each course offering, there can be multiple course sections reflecting details of the course instructor, method of delivery, start date and meeting times.
