Award Recipient
Synonym(s): N/A
An award recipient is a student or applicant who has been granted an award. Some awards require an application and others are automatically granted based on eligibility criteria.
As a condition of being selected as the recipient of an award, a subset of the recipient’s personal information provided during the award adjudication process may be made publicly available as per the University’s policy. Specifically, the award recipient’s full name and whether or not a student has received a particular academic award, honour or distinction either from York or an external third party.
Students currently registered in a program or course at the University are entitled to submit a written request to the Office of the University Registrar if they wish to restrict the release of information about any academic awards, honours or distinctions.
