YCAR welcomed Deepak Mishra to York in May 2015. Dr. Mishra, a professor at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University was in Toronto to work with collaborator Raju Das (Geography) on their Geographically Uneven Development in an Under-developed State of India: A Study of Odisha project.

Dr. Mishra also shared his research at an event on 27 May 2015 titled Neoliberal-Capitalism and Uneven Geographical Development in India.
