A rare opportunity to learn Philippine folk dance from Leo Lorilla and Pamela Corales, core performing artists of the world-renowned Bayanihan Dance Company.

About the Guest Artists:

Founded in 1956, Bayanihan, the National Dance Company of the Philippines takes its name from an ancient Filipino tradition which means working together for a common good.

Pamela Rose G. Corales is a core performing artist and trainer of the Bayanihan, the National Dance Company of the Philippines. For the past 18 years, she has travelled the world performing at dance festivals, winning international dance competitions, and promoting the Philippines through dance, music, and costumes. She represented the Philippines at the ASEAN Cultural Road Show that the Ministry of Culture of Thailand initiated.  A member of the company’s research team, she is a lead teacher in the Bayanihan’s Teaching and Touching Lives Program. She is a faculty member of the Philippine Women’s University in Manila where she teaches for the Campus Life Sayaw (Dance) Workshop and Dance Academy.

Leo Laurence Lorilla is a core performing artist and a cultural ambassador of the Bayanihan, the National Dance Company of the Philippines. He has travelled the world with this internationally renowned dance company that is a grand prize winner of 14 world dance competitions. Born in the city of Koronadal of South Cotabato in the southern Philippines, he is the company’s fashion, costume, and set designer. For excellence in culture and the arts, the province of South Cotabato awarded him the Tubas Taliambong in 2011. He teaches physical education at the Philippine Women’s University where he received his BFA in Advertising.
