Timeline & Approach

The SSRP launched in April 2017 and is projected to be a multi-year program. It will be the largest, most complex digital transformation program in York University’s history. The new SSRP systems, including the Constituent Relationship Management, Identity Access and Management and Next Generation Student Information System, will be York’s foundational transactional systems and will be tightly integrated with other systems.  

SSRP Program Approach

The SSRP is focused on supporting the vision for Service Excellence in relation to student services. It will introduce new integrated business solutions and streamlined technology platforms to enhance the student, faculty, and staff experience.

The SSRP’s work includes standardizing and sharing common administrative methods and processes for students, faculty, and staff across the institution to improve efficiency, timeliness, and reliability of student information.  

A full-time, dedicated, and collaborative team of York staff and industry experts will deliver the change and accelerate the delivery of sustainable improvements to student-centered services. 

Through SSRP’s unifying governance framework, we will incorporate distinct checkpoints and gates that provide us with up-to-date information and confirm that our approval is needed to proceed to the next stage. This includes the SSRP working to engage the York community in Fit Gaps within every project. The goal is to confirm requirements and ensure business, technical and solution provider readiness for implementation. A key deliverable of this stage is to confirm the proposed scope and timelines towards implementation.


The SSRP will focus on four areas of change:

Processes

The SSRP will design simpler, faster, more efficient processes to enable high quality service delivery, utilizing leading business process analysis methodologies to ensure processes are efficient, high quality and focused on improving student services.

Structures

The SSRP will enhance administrative structures to streamline the services provided to students, faculty, and staff.    

Systems

The SSRP will simplify and implement technology solutions that are integrated and provide enhanced functionality for students, faculty, and staff, following York’s enterprise architecture technology principles.

Culture 

The SSRP will embed a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement across the University and actively engage the York community in all aspects of this business and technology transformation.
