Teaching academy

The Teaching Commons offers this certificate course to provide instructors with a scholarly approach to engage in postsecondary theories and practice.

This course is available to all course instructors. Using a hands-on and participant-centred, reflective, activity based approach; participants will meet monthly and complete online modules over a period of 4 months.

  • Teaching philosophies and the changing currents in the postsecondary provincial context
  • Course design with a particular focus on constructive alignment, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and backward design
  • Assessment of student learning and feedback
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
