If you do not have cellular data on your smartphone but have WiFi access, please follow the 2FA Setup with a Tablet instructions.
Step 1. Login to Passport York
Go to Manage My Services and log in with your Passport York credentials.

Step 2. Welcome Screen
You will be redirected to the page below. To go through the setup process, please click Setup. Otherwise, click on Setup Later. You have up-to 14 business days to setup a device before login is permitted.

Click Get Started to begin the setup of your device.

Step 3. Enter Your Phone Number
Select your Country from the drop-down list for the country code and type in your phone number.
In the illustration below, we chose Canada
Use the number of your smartphone that you'll have with you when you're logging in to a Duo-protected service. Double-check that you entered it correctly, check the box, and click Continue.

Step 4. Choose Ownership via Passcode/Phone Call
Next, you will be asked to confirm ownership of your phone number. Duo will send you a one-time passcode to verify your device. Once you provide the passcode, you will be prompted to download the Duo Mobile app. You can also search for the app directly from your smartphone; search for Duo Mobile in the Apps store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). Follow the platform-specific instructions on the screen to install Duo Mobile.


After installing the app, return to the setup window and click I have Duo Mobile installed.
Do NOT delete the Duo Mobile app after completing the 2FA Setup. You need the Duo Mobile app for two-step verification to work on that device.
Step 5. Scan QR Code to Activate Duo Mobile
Activating the app links it to your account so you can use it for authentication.
On iPhone and Android devices, activate Duo Mobile by scanning the QR code with the app's built-in QR code scanner or simply scan it with your smartphone's camera. Follow the platform specific instructions for your device:


Step 6 (Optional). Add Another 2FA Device
You can also add an additional 2FA device (i.e. hardware token, additional phone, tablet). If you do not want to add any other devices, select "I don't want to add more devices" to continue.

Step 7. Congratulations!
Helpful tip: Enable the 7-day "Remember Me" option by selecting "Yes, this is my device" at login time to reduce how often 2FA is required on a particular trusted device. Never enable this option on public or shared devices.
