Shane McNaught
Shane McNaught, Assistant Vice-President, Labour Relations, York University.
Shane McNaught is a proud York University Osgoode Hall Law School alumnus, earning both a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in labour relations and employment law. Shane's extensive labour relations and employment law experience includes senior labour relations roles at the University Health Network, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and the Ontario Principals’ Council. Most recently, he was Director, Global Labour Relations and Senior Legal Counsel, Employment Law at Scotiabank. In this role, he provided Canadian employment law services, oversaw international collective bargaining, and acted as chief negotiator across multiple international jurisdictions. Shane also brings comprehensive training and experience in the research, development, and delivery of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives, including leading an international respectful workplace training program. He is an experienced workplace investigator, having conducted complex human rights and harassment investigations with an empathetic and practical approach.
As the Assistant Vice-President, Labour Relations, Shane McNaught oversees the University’s full labour relations function including collective bargaining and the interpretation and administration of collective agreements. Shane and the Labour Relations team provide University administrators with solid advice, coaching and guidance in support of developing effective labour relations at York University.
Leigh Scott
Leigh Scott, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Assistant Vice-President, Human Resources (AVP HR), York University.
Leigh Scott has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Assistant Vice-President, Human Resources (AVP HR) at York University, effective July 1, 2024. She joins from Grand River Hospital, where she was the Interim Vice-President of People, Culture, and Experience since May 2023. Leigh holds a Master of Leadership from Guelph University and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has extensive experience in community-based health care, organizational change leadership, performance improvement, and labour relations.
As Chief Human Resources Officer at York University, Leigh Scott focuses on fairness and equity, developing employee-centered strategies, supporting the University’s mission, and implementing the Decolonizing, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy.
Audrey Rochette
Audrey Rochette, Assistant Vice-President Indigenous Initiatives, York University
Audrey Rochette was appointed as the Assistant Vice-President Indigenous Initiatives at York University effective June 23, 2025. Audrey is Anishinaabe from Waabadowgang-Whitesand First Nation and the daughter of a residential school survivor. She was the Associate Vice President Indigenous Engagement & Education External at Sheridan College; the Director, Indigenous Initiatives, at George Brown College and currently sits on several committees in different sectors committed to reconciliation work. Audrey’s passion for Indigenous relations was cultivated in her work with Indspire and imagineNATIVE, the largest Indigenous film festival in the world.
Audrey holds of Bachelor of Arts (Honours), and a Master of Arts both from the University of Toronto.
As the Assistant Vice-President Indigenous Initiatives at York University, Audrey Rochette, will provide dynamic, and collaborative senior leadership that supports the growth of York University's Indigenous portfolio. This includes supporting the Indigenous Council, developing and nurturing relationships across the university and external community with the goals of Indigenization, Reconciliation and Decolonization.
Amy Gaukel
Amy Gaukel, Senior Executive Officer for the Division, York University.
Amy Gaukel is an award-winning higher education professional with a career in student affairs. She is currently the Senior Executive Officer for the Division, guiding planning, goal setting, and operations. Previously, she was the Assistant Dean, Students at the Lassonde School of Engineering. Amy holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Calgary and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Development and International Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. She volunteers with the United Way Simcoe Muskoka and chairs the Board’s Governance Committee. Amy is a step-mom, wife, guardian to two golden doodles, gardener, embroiderer, amateur photographer, angler, and hunter.
At York University, Amy Gaukel oversees planning, goal setting, strategic projects, and operations for the Division as the Senior Executive Officer. She supports the activation of the DEDI Strategy and the Framework and Action Plan on Black Inclusion. Her experience in student affairs enhances her leadership in improving the experiences at York and in meeting the Division’s strategic objectives.
Marian MacGregor
Marian MacGregor, Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion, York University.
Marian MacGregor is the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion at York University. Previously, she was the Equity Advisor at the Law Society of Ontario, where she implemented recommendations for addressing the challenges faced by racialized licensees. Marian's legal career began with providing services to low-income individuals and families in Toronto's legal clinic system. As Executive Director of CLASP at Osgoode Hall Law School, she developed an interdisciplinary program for law and social work students. She also co-founded the Disability Law Intensive at Osgoode Hall in partnership with ARCH Disability Law Centre. Marian holds a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Toronto, an LLB from the University of Windsor Law School, and an M.A. in Critical Disability Studies from York University.
As the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion at York University, Marian MacGregor leads initiatives to promote and uphold human rights, equity, and inclusion across the university. Her role involves developing and implementing policies, programs, and strategies to create a more inclusive and equitable campus environment.
Uzo Anucha
Uzo Anucha, Associate Vice-President, Faculty Affairs, York University.
Uzo Anucha is the Associate Vice-President, Faculty Affairs at York University. She is a full professor in the School of Social Work and the York Research Chair in Youth and Contexts of Inequity. Her research focuses on critical youth work and community-engaged scholarship that fosters social change. As the founding Academic Director of Youth Research and Evaluation Exchange (YouthREX), she has led its development into a key resource for Ontario’s youth sector. Uzo has served in leadership roles at York, including as Graduate Program Director for the MSW and PhD programs. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, an MSW and BSW from York University, and a BSc and MSc from the University of Nigeria.
As the Associate Vice-President, Faculty Affairs at York University, Uzo Anucha provides leadership in faculty recruitment, development, and support across the university. Her role involves implementing policies, programs, and strategies to foster an inclusive and equitable academic environment that enhances faculty success and institutional excellence.
