The study highlights how lack of compensation for labor to assist disabled riders may lead to driver reluctance in providing service to them.

Professor Mahtot Gebresselassie is an assistant professor at York University’s Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change (EUC). Her research focuses on Uber and Lyft transportation equity in relation to people with disabilities and low-income earners. She also does research on travel behavior using Uber and Lyft in extreme weather and other unusual events.
