About CMTIV
The Canada Mauritius Trade and Investment Venture was launched in 2025. It turns long-standing goodwill between Canada and Mauritius into active business partnerships. CMTIV brings together business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, institutional partners and diaspora communities. Its work covers four areas: dialogue, facilitation, visibility and continuity, with a focus on fintech, renewable energy and education technology. CMTIV works in English and French, reflecting both Canada and Mauritius. Interns join a small, fast-moving team and see international business development first-hand.

Position summary
Make CMTIV visible to the right audiences in both Canada and Mauritius. The intern manages the back end of CMTIV's webinars and virtual meetings, from registration and slides to live technical support and the edited replay, keeps the bilingual website current, builds a steady social media presence, and turns CMTIV's members, events and news into clear, well-edited content. The focus is on improving and maintaining the existing website, not rebuilding it.

Key responsibilities

  • Webinars and events (about 30% of hours): create and manage event pages on Eventbrite, including descriptions, registration questions, ticket types and reminder emails. Handle all back-end and technical support for webinars and virtual meetings on StreamYard: set up the stream and branded overlays, run speaker technical checks and rehearsals, prepare and run the slides, keep time and cue speakers, manage the chat and on-screen comments, troubleshoot problems, and record the session. The intern does not host or co-moderate unless needed. Edit recordings (trimming, titles, captions) and publish them to CMTIV channels with speaker approval. Ticket pricing and payout settings stay with CMTIV leadership.
  • Website (about 25%): update pages and news on canadamauritius.com in English and French. Build out the member directory and member listing pages, plus event and webinar replay pages. Apply basic SEO (titles, descriptions, alt text) and basic accessibility (headings, contrast, alt text). Build and update landing pages, registration forms and email campaigns in GoHighLevel. All changes are made in a test or staging environment where available and are approved before publication.
  • Social media (about 25%): build and run a monthly content calendar for LinkedIn and Facebook. Create posts, simple graphics and short video clips cut from webinars. Promote events and new members, and track reach and engagement. Develop recommendations to improve audience engagement, event registrations, and website traffic based on performance data.
  • Content creating, editing and reporting (about 20%): write, edit and proofread web copy, newsletters and announcements. Keep tone, terminology and branding consistent across English and French. Produce a short monthly performance summary (registrations, attendance, reach) and a final handover guide, including a webinar run-sheet CMTIV can reuse. Conduct brief interviews with members and partners to develop spotlight articles, testimonials, or success stories. Draft blog posts, feature articles, and interview-based content highlighting Canada-Mauritius business, educational, and cultural connections. Assist in creating bilingual digital resources, guides, toolkits, and promotional materials.

Language requirements

  • Bilingual (English and French) strongly preferred.
  • Write and edit clear, polished copy in English. Ideally, also write and edit in French, or adapt English content for French-speaking audiences.
  • Support bilingual events behind the scenes: prepare and check slides and on-screen text in English and French. The intern is not expected to host or present.

Working conditions

  • Fully remote. The intern works from home, using their own computer and internet connection. CMTIV
    provides all software accounts.
  • About 10 hours per week over 10 weeks (October 5 to December 11, 2026), scheduled flexibly
around classes, mostly between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern.
  • Occasional early-morning or evening work to support live webinars and meetings. CMTIV works
across time zones (Mauritius, Toronto and British Columbia; Mauritius is 8 hours ahead of Toronto
and 11 hours ahead of Vancouver). Scheduled in advance and counted toward the 100 hours.
  • Virtual orientation (including a health and safety orientation for home-based work) in the first week, a
    weekly 30-minute check-in, a mid-term review, and a final evaluation.
  • A daily start and end check-in message with the supervisor, as part of CMTIV's working-alone
    protocol.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled at Glendon and eligible for a credit work placement.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one website platform (for example, WordPress or a similar content
    management system) and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Experience creating content for LinkedIn and/or Facebook, and familiarity with a design tool such as
    Canva.
  • Comfort running the technical side of live online events (for example, StreamYard, Zoom or OBS),
building and running slide presentations, and basic video editing (for example, CapCut, Premiere Pro
    or DaVinci Resolve).
  • Calm under pressure during live events, with good timekeeping.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early-morning or evening hours, scheduled in advance, because
CMTIV works across Mauritius, Toronto and British Columbia time zones.
  • Reliable computer and internet access, and a quiet space for video calls.

Assets

  • Experience with Eventbrite or other event registration platforms; photography or graphic design.
  • Experience with GoHighLevel or similar marketing platforms (for example, HubSpot, Mailchimp or
    ClickFunnels).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics or LinkedIn Page analytics), SEO, or
    web accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Interest in international trade, Africa and the Indian Ocean region, or diaspora communities.

Tools you will use

social media scheduling), the CMTIV website content management system, Canva or similar design tools,
a video editor (for example, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro), LinkedIn and Facebook (with a
