How to borrow equipment from the Glendon Digital Media Lab
- All faculty members and staff can borrow the equipment located at the Frost library by filling out the reservation form located on the Frost library web page (up to 5 business days notice is required for processing).
- Students need to be sponsored by a faculty member to borrow equipment from Frost library. Usually, they are sponsored by the professor for who they are working on a course project. A professor fills out the reservation form to give them access to the equipment available at the Frost library.
- Student members of the Digital Media Club can use the GDML equipment for extracurricular projects. GDMC members are automatically granted remote access to all 12 of GDML computers (all equipped with Adobe Creative Suite licenses). For more information, contact glmedialab@glendon.yorku.ca.
- To renew material, you need to email Frost library at rsvfrost@yorku.ca. Fines are the same as for reserve material: $5.00 per day to a maximum of $100.00 per item.
Borrowers’ responsibilities
Borrowers of Glendon Digital Media Lab (GDML) equipment are financially responsible for any damaged or stolen items.
- Students borrow items on a professor’s card and are the borrowers responsible for returning the equipment kits on time at the library. They are also financially responsible for late fines and are expected to reimburse their professor if they incur any. To renew material, you need to email Frost library at rsvfrost@yorku.ca. Fines are the same as reserve material: $5.00 per day to a maximum of $100.00 per item.
- If equipment is damaged or stolen under the care of a borrower, this person is financially responsible. The GDML team is in charge of assessing the repair or replacement cost and should be contacted at glmedialab@glendon.yorku.ca
