What if I find an opportunity on my own?
Leading up to finding an opportunity on your own, you are welcome to consult with the EE Office about which opportunities might be deemed appropriate. Please connect with the EE Office (ee@glendon.yorku.ca) to get a copy of the Placement Approval Form which outlines the eligibility criteria.
If you find an opportunity on your own that you would like to have validated for the course, you will need to:
- Receive an offer letter from a company/an organization, indicating you have been selected in the recruiting process.
- Avoid accepting the letter until you have sent a description of the role to ee@glendon.yorku.ca.
- Await approval from the department for the opportunity.
- If approved, proceed to accepting and signing the offer letter with the company/organization.
- If rejected, proceed to respectfully declining the opportunity* and continue searching for a new opportunity.
*If your proposed opportunity is rejected, you are still welcome to accept the opportunity for your own professional/academic/personal development, but it will not count towards credits.
