Future Students

The minimum admission requirements are listed below. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission. Applications will be considered on a holistic basis including their professional experience.

  1. An Honours degree from a recognized university, with at least a B (second class) standing over the final two years of full-time equivalent study. International applicants should check the York University degree equivalency page. Applicants who don’t have the minimum grade point average but have professional experience or equivalent can be considered for admission.
  2. An education in business or related discipline with a quantitative background demonstrated by coursework in statistics, math, economics, and research methods. Applicants lacking business education or work experience may consider taking a Graduate Diploma in Management.

The Senate Executive Committee announced an extension of the use of Duolingo as an accepted English language placement test for admission to York University for the academic sessions between FW2022– SU2024. 125 is the minimum score for admission to this program.

International students and internationally educated domestic students must have completed at least one year of full-time study at an accredited university in a country (or institution) where English is the official language of instruction.

Applicants are required to fill out an Application for Admission Form and pay a non-refundable application fee.

The complete application must include:

  • Unofficial copies of transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions (Official copies will be required if an applicant receives an offer to the program. Transcripts and GPAs are assessed by Graduate Assessors and Graduate Credential Analysts at York University’s Graduate Admissions. Third-party GPA equivalences (e.g. WES) will not be accepted).
  • Two satisfactory letters of reference (e.g., a minimum rating of ‘good’ in all letters), which may include: a) an academic reference from a faculty member who taught the applicant; and/or b) a reference from a direct workplace supervisor of the applicant within the past five years who can evaluate the applicant’s analytical orientation.
  • A personal statement of research and professional plans—clearly stated, logically developed, and congruent with the MScMP program. Make sure to indicate the specialization that you are planning to pursue - Accounting, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management (note that Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Managing Professionals specializations are not offered for Fall 2021).
  • Resume/CV;
  • Completed MScMP Supplementary Information Form (.pdf) - The MScMP builds on prior knowledge, students are expected to be educated or experienced in the specialization they select;
  • International students and internationally educated domestic students are required to demonstrate their English proficiency if no previous studies were completed in English (as per Category A of English Language Proficiency if applicable)

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of the professors in the program.

Applications open October 15. For the Fall start date, the application deadlines are:

  • for domestic applicants: May 15*.
  • for international applicants: March 15. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for Fall entry.

Applicants will be notified of a decision regarding their acceptance into the September program by July 30. Students cannot defer their acceptance to the next term.

All full-time qualified domestic students will receive a guaranteed funding package for the duration of the program with their offer of admission.

Funding to help meet the financial needs of graduate students is made up of one or more of the following internal and external funding sources: awards, fellowships and bursaries. All funding is contingent on continuous registration as a full-time student and continued satisfactory performance in the program.
