Community Updates

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the bargaining teams for the University and YUSA-2 reached a tentative agreement, which is now subject to ratification.

December 22, 2025: The University and YUSA-2, the union representing part-time administrative employees, have been engaged in collective bargaining since October 29, 2025, with YUSA-2 having applied for conciliation on January 29, 2025, well prior to the commencement of negotiations.

The parties last met on December 18, 2025, during which they engaged in confidential negotiations with the assistance of the provincially appointed conciliation officer.  The day concluded without a collective agreement being reached between the parties. Discussions will reconvene on January 17, 2026, with the assistance of mediator Eli Gedalof.
