About

Our mission is to collect, preserve, and create resources relating to the history of Greek Canada.

We seek donations from local donors in the GTHA as well as individuals and communities with materials relating to pan-Canadian themes (i.e. migration policy, Greek Canadians’ experiences during war, and federally-organized Greek initiatives). We welcome books, photographs, newspapers, records, video recordings, and other cultural ephemera that reflect the diversity of opinions and activities of Greeks in Canada.

We aim to preserve these materials in our archive, and digitize those in danger of deterioration. Working with York University Libraries and local Greek communities, we endeavour to facilitate access to oral history interviews, old newspapers, and recordings of community events through our website.

The HHF Greek Canadian Archives is also committed to collaborating with partners throughout the country on digital public history projects that document the history of Greek business, settlement, migration, and activism in Canada. We look to extend these collaborations with programs in the United States, Australia, and elsewhere in the coming years.
