i plateia

In ancient Greece, the plateia served a vital role. Surrounded by civic and religious buildings and shops, it was a gathering place for all social classes. Artisans, craftspeople, and merchants would showcase their work, while others would gather to socialize or participate in public assemblies or cultural events.

i plateia aims to fulfill a similar role in Greek Canada’s digital public sphere. It is an inclusive space for our large, dispersed, and diverse community to engage in conversation and refine our perspectives. It is a place to showcase the diversity of Greek Canadian experiences. We invite submissions from scholars, students, community members, and others interested in Greek Canada.
