Early Career Network

What It Is

  • The Early Career Network (ECN): The ECN is an organized network that facilitates training and collaboration among students, early-career researchers, and mentors across different disciplines. ECN focuses on academic and professional skills; some training is specific to disaster and emergency management and research, while others are applicable to any discipline. ECN is a specialized program by York Emergency Mitigation, Engagement, Response, and Governance Institute (Y-EMERGE).

Who Are Our Members

  • Members: Trainees within the network include students and individuals in the early stages of their careers, ranging from undergraduates, graduates, and postdoctoral researchers. These members are engaged in projects related to disaster and emergency management and research on natural, technological, and human-made hazards such as pandemics, disease modeling, floods and wildfires, terrorism, cybersecurity, chemical contamination, etc.
