Course design

Are you designing a new course or looking for a course refresh?

The Teaching Commons offers two highly interactive courses to assist you in the process of (re)designing your course from a student-centred approach to teaching. You can also book a consultation with your educational developer liaison to discuss your course one-on-one.

Course design intensive

This one-week interactive online workshop is for course directors who would like assistance in designing a new course or to enhance and refresh an existing course. Throughout, you will receive practical advice, strategies, and tools for (re)developing your course while covering principles of inclusive course design, assessment and feedback, active learning and engagement strategies.

For more information or to register, please visit the Teaching Commons Calendar.

Inclusive design: Building principles of equity into teaching and learning

In this course, participants will integrate pedagogical principles of equity and inclusion within their own teaching contexts through a peer-based format and with an emphasis on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). A key goal of this course is to provide opportunities for faculty to address issues of accessibility, inclusivity, diversity, and academic honesty.

For more information or to register, please visit the Teaching Commons Calendar.

Should this course currently not be on offer, you can add yourself to a waitlist.

Consultations

At any time, you can connect with your educational developer liaison to discuss your course design in depth, brainstorm ideas, ask for feedback, and plan for the future.
