A flexible program designed for all who teach at York to experiment with AI tools or cautiously consider the implications of generative AI in teaching and learning. We offer essentials and leadership certificates with the possibility of a specialty badge in the critical lens theme or practical pedagogies theme.

Community of practice

This community of practice is dedicated to uniting York University educators who share an interest in generative AI. Together, we connect, collaborate, and share resources, exploring best practices and addressing the challenges and opportunities we face in responding to this technology into postsecondary education. Organizational Learning and Leadership (OLL) in HR offers a series of virtual, instructor-led sessions designed to support Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) skill development. To register, visit the Learning Opportunities page in YU Learn and enter “GenAI” in the keyword search field.

AI in Practice invites York instructors to bring real course materials and in-progress plans for responding to or integrating AI. Connect with an educational developer and fellow faculty to explore options, troubleshoot sticky spots, and swap strategies and resources. We meet on the last Monday of the month from 10-11 am ET - grab a coffee and join us online!

Teaching with AI Micro-Credential - This program, offered by eCampus Ontario, covers key topics such as the use of AI in postsecondary education, prompt engineering, guidelines and policies, as well as ethics and academic integrity.
