About the Office of the Vice-Provost Academic

Welcome to the Office of the Vice-Provost Academic!

Our team works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to advance the University Academic Plan and oversee the implementation of the York University Quality Assurance Procedures. In all of our endeavours, we are guided by the first principle of the Quality Assurance Framework, which articulates that “the best interest of students is at the core of quality assurance activities.” Each of our priorities is focused on enhancing the quality of academic programs, supporting innovative teaching and learning, and cultivating positive and generative experiences for students.

In all of the work we do, we strive to fulfill our commitments under the University Academic Plan. We support program revitalization and provide resources for “forward-looking teaching and learning” that offers students the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in a rapidly changing and complex world. We work to cultivate, in partnership with academic units and others, academic “pathways to thriving and success” that invite students to grow, learn, and take new risks while they are at York and beyond. We commit in all of our projects to “working as partners” and “living well together” by cultivating collaborative, supportive, and mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and units at York, in the post-secondary sector, and across the broader community.
