Webinar: Embedding SDGs in HEI Practices

In this webinar we will explore the ways in which higher education institutions are working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through which activities they are embedding the SDGs in their practices and how sustainability links with higher education innovation.

The webinar will be moderated by Fiona Godsman, a member of the HEInnovate expert group and it will engage:

  • Isabel Toman, Programme Officer for the IAU Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD) initiatives. Isabel will provide an overview on the subject of higher education and sustainable development and the activities of the International Association of Universities (IAU)
  • Charles Hopkins, UNESCO Chair at York University, Canada and Helen Balderama, Director, Global Engagement and Partnerships at York University, Canada, who will discuss education as enabler of the SDGs and showcase initiatives of York University in reorienting education towards sustainability
  • Paul Walsh, Vice President of Education of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Director of Education of the SDG Academy. Paul will talk about HE sustainable transformation through open access of quality education resources
