CITY is pleased to welcome a new visiting scholar to the Institute. Dr. Angela Stienen has a PhD in Social Anthropology from Berne University, Switzerland. Her work has included extensive field research in Colombia on globalisation, urban politics and conflict transformation and she has researched migration, urban development, cultural politics and inclusion/exclusion. She is professor in Sociology at the University of Applied Sciences in Berne and associate researcher at the Human Rights and Research Institute IPC in Medellín, Colombia. Angela Stienen will be at the CITY Institute at York University during her sabbatical from January to September 2011. Please join us in welcoming Angela to CITY.
