Faezah Esmaeili

Faezeh is a PhD candidate in Sociology at York University. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology, as well as a Master’s in Youth Studies.   Her doctoral research examines the politics of racism and refugee reception in the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a particular focus on Afghan refugees and immigrants. She employs media frame analysis and policy narrative analysis to uncover how racialized discourses shape processes of inclusion and exclusion.
