Tyler Valiquette is a Ph.D. student in Human Geography at the University College London and an SSHRC Doctoral Fellow. Tyler holds a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Guelph. Since 2019, Tyler has been conducting research in Brazil and Colombia on local, national, and international responses to Venezuelan migration. His PhD Project is entitled, “Queer Migration in the Periphery: Responses to Venezuelan sexual minority migrants and Refugees in Colombia and Brazil.” Tyler's work focuses on south-south migration, queer migration, public policy formation, development, and state-led, humanitarian, and local responses to displacement.
