Intern

Salwa is a fourth-year student completing her undergraduate degree in Global Health, with a specialization in health promotion and disease prevention. She will be supporting and contributing to the research of the Social Inequities in Health Project based in Toronto, under the supervision and direction of Dr. Godfred Boateng at the Global and Environmental Health Lab.
She is particularly interested in the relationship of the perceived social position and the underlying mechanisms that influence health outcomes; health policy; public health surveillance, and child and maternal health.
She is a tenant representative advocating for tenants in her operating unit, liaising with staff to set priorities and allocate resources. In her spare time, she is a practicing artist, with a focus on visual art mediums, and loves to be in nature.
